      Hi,

I currently have a virtual PFsense router on my ESXi host which has two NICs installed. One NIC is for LAN and is plugged into switch and the other is for WAN which is connected to a BT Business Hub which is in bridge mode.

I have set up a vswitch for the WAN NIC with network label 'WAN' and the LAN network label is 'homenetwork'.

I have a dynamic IP address with BT and need some help setting up the pfsense router to connect it to ISP.

I have tried setting it up myself but must be going wrong somewhere. I have had a look online and can't see any guides to set this up.

Please can someone assist. Help will be much appreciated.

      Thanks,

      Adam

Assuming BT is in Bridge mode and your ISP doesn't need PPPoE or other authentication pfSense should work with out of the box configuration. All you need to do is assign WAN and LAN to correct interfaces/vswitches.

Please post screenshots of your whole NIC / vSwitch / pfSense interface config.

If you are using BT Business Broadband, you will need to use PPPoE with the user name and password that BT had notified to you. The BT knowledge base has more details.
