    Is it normal for a pfsense 2.2.25 box to need a restart before static DHCP mappings will take effect? At least that's what's happening in my case. I need to restart the pfsense box before it gives out these static mappings.

      No. You need to release the original dynamic lease from the DHCP client.

        I forgot to mention that, I of course already released that lease before even posting here. Any other thoughts?

            No, it doesn't sound normal. Though perhaps you could try restarting the DHCP service instead of rebooting. It doesn't fix the issue, but it's less extreme. My only other observation is whether you have looked at any of your system logs. You may find the cause of the problem there.
