Wle200nx or wle600vx from pcengines + pfsense working?
-
Hello everybody,
I am thinking about buying an apu from pcengines with wle200nx or wle600vx and installing pfsense on it.
As I have seen here:
https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/3849
http://pcengines.info/forums/?page=post&id=54E788A4-636C-4D7F-B0DE-D1F798B7DD2F
the wle200nx should work with pfsense.Has anyone experience with the Compex WLE600VX? Does it work with pfsense? How good is the performance?
Thanks in advance,
power -
Has anyone experience with the Compex WLE600VX?
On the Varia-store website I was reading the following statement about this card:
Supports either CompexWRT with Atheros reference wireless driver or OpenWRT
with ath10k wireless driver on WPJ344Does it work with pfsense?
I think there is no one, because the WiFi ac standard is not jet supported by pfSense.
How good is the performance?
I don´t know this really. But the tech. specs are only telling something about 876 MBit/s
and all other vendors with ac standard are at the stage of up to 1300 MBit/s, so you might
be expecting by yourself how fine this card will work.At these days it would be better to go with a external wireless access point, to get a proper ac
standard that is reaching 1300 MBit/s and not only 876 MBit/s -
This is rather old post, but it's still a relevant question.
Compex wle600vx still doesn't work on the latest pfSense (tested on 2.4.2).
Compex wle200nx works well, and you can get just under 100Mbit/s throughput on it.
See the raw output from iperf3:

Indeed, still no 802.11ac support in FreeBSD/pfSense. :( I still keep checking the FreeBSD wireless mailing list….
But, as you say, at least the WLE200NX works well enough for most applications.
Was that WLE600VX actually working in AC mode? I have seen very similar throughput to that with 3x3 802.11N setups.

I would like to know whether it will work or not. Can you tell me?

Whether what will work exactly? More detail needed.
