I setup the Shrewsoft mobile client with pfsense. It connects fine and i can pass traffic, but after a random amount of time. The client locks up. I can't pass any data even though Shrewsoft shows it connected. The only way i can get it to work again is to reboot my PC or restart the Shewsoft IKE Deamon. I have this problem on multiple PCs.

I'm just wondering if anyone had any success with pfsense and the shrewsoft 2.2.2 client. Or what you guys are using with success for windows mobile ipsec client.

I think that client is just dead. You might have better luck trying native IKEv2 options with whatever OS.

I got IKEv2 working with pfsense 2.2.5 and the Windows 7 Client. I am having issue with split tunneling, but it seems this is just broken on the windows side.. I Saw this post from Jim P was wondering if this is still the case.

I don't have the link handy but someone else here on the forum posted that they were able to get the powershell command to work to allow for split tunneling. That may have been on Windows 8, though, I'm not sure if it also works on 7. It's worth a shot though.

I use Shrewsoft on MAC OS X 10.11 and 2 previous versions and also Windows 7-10 without issues.  The only issue I've had is the version of pfSense they worked on - all works on 2.1.5.

The powershell commands are only for windows 8/10. No luck on 7. It seems the only way this can work with windows 7 is.

                1. Route all traffic over tunnel (Use Default Gateway on Remote Network selected on windows 7 client)
                2. Add Routes manually when connected to VPN Client
