Checkbox Display as Radio Duplicate ID Error

Using display as radio on form checkbox creates duplicate id error for each option.
This is because the name is also being used as the id.  The example given by w3schools uses the value as the id, which would eliminate the duplicate id errors.

Is this something that could be changed?  Or is there need for the name and id to be the same?
