      Hi all,

      I've just got an x750e and set it up following a few how-to's online for the tweaking.

      One thing that I still haven't managed to get to work "correctly" are the LED lights for the NICs.

      I have followed the explanations, but it seems like the modules never load

      /etc/rc.conf_mount_rw
      fetch -o /boot/modules/if_sk.ko https://sites.google.com/site/pfsensefirebox/home/if_sk.freebsd-8.3.ko
      fetch -o /boot/modules/if_msk.ko https://sites.google.com/site/pfsensefirebox/home/if_msk.freebsd-8.3.ko
      Update the /boot/loader.conf.local to add:
      if_sk_load="yes"
      if_msk_load="yes"
      /etc/rc.conf_mount_ro
      reboot

      Now even if I try to dmesg | grep LED, nothing shows.

      [2.2.5-RELEASE][root@pfSense.localdomain]/conf: ls -la /boot/modules
      total 237
      drwxr-xr-x  2 root  wheel    512 Dec 14 21:42 .
      drwxr-xr-x  7 root  wheel    1024 Dec 14 21:34 ..
      -r-xr-xr-x  1 root  wheel  103608 Nov  4 17:21 bwi_v3_ucode.ko
      -rw-r–r--  1 root  wheel  75618 Sep 25  2013 if_msk.ko
      -rw-r--r--  1 root  wheel  47627 Sep 25  2013 if_sk.ko

      Files are there

      Here is my loader.conf.local

      [2.2.5-RELEASE][root@pfSense.localdomain]/conf: cat /boot/loader.conf.local
      hint.ata.0.mode=PIO4
      if_sk_load=yes
      if_msk_load=yes
      hw.msk.msi_disable=1

      Any help would be appreciated!

      From a pfSense newbie

        Try the files here.  The ones you used are for an earlier freebsd version.

              I have attached both the if_sk.ko and if_msk.ko that are on my Firebox right now which is running 2.3.3.

              Just copy them to /boot/modules

              watchguard_firebox_nic_led_fix_modules.zip

                  Do you know what those were compiled against? I guess they were those posted in the old thread unless you re-compiled them yourself?
