It really is a sorry day when the US Government undermines the tech industry so badly. The people who are supposed to foster growth and security for our country are killing one of the last successful industries left in our country.

Every country big enough to have design and manufacturing facilities for chips at this level will also have a government that is trying to get backdoors put into the chips. That's life in the modern world.

How about the absurdity of the US military attacking USA companies?

How about the absurdity of them claiming it's for national security, but they couldn't catch the effing Hamburglar. But there is lots of evidence of the apparatus being used for economic espionage, which shows the entire point of mass surveillance is more about citizen control and advantage for the capital class.
