The DNS forwarder (DNSMasq) works fine blocking a few hundred domains. To save some time I added some 40,000+ to the pfsense config file and imported that one. Bit it just stopped booting with "Fatal Error: Maximum execution time … exceeded in xmlparse.inc".

Is there any reliable package that uses a way to block this big list of domains?
