      Hello.
      Starting with version 2.2.3 X 64
I started having problems with 10G interfaces.
immediately after updating the interfaces do not UP.
I check each new version. is unchanged

      Server Dell PE C6100
Mezzanine NIC Intel 82559 10 Gigabit Ethernet (dual-port)
Is there any information on this issue?
or am I the first to report?

      my current working version 2.2.2
what information you need to solve the problem?

      p.s.
Do you plan to support mellanox NIC?

This should be moved to the hardware section.

Thats said,  are there any kind of logs that provide clues?
pfSense is dependend on freebsd for hardware drivers. But there are no huge differences in that area between 2.2.2 and 2.2.3 (base os is more or less the same)

Im speculating that perhaps a driver update is causing an issue ?
Could you try a 2.3 beta release to see if the nic works then?

Today  re-install the system, so the logs do not have time.
          up:
any versions 2.2.X says no carrier and used mbuff over default ( 32000-38000).
with increasing mbuff 65000 network interface is up.
but the apply interface to vlan or same NIC again say no Carrier.
          and display console notification:

          • ix1 invalid argument

Installation 9.3 solved the problem =) mbuff usage after install again over 42000.

more accurate information can give 2 months, when will migrate to another server and full test it.

thank you for the advice to go to an experimental version =)

We have a similar or the same problem, any version higher then 2.2.2 (including 2.3 beta release) will result in a non functional nic when configuring a vlan on the 10Gb interface. I suspect the updated nic driver is causing the problem. After a reboot a 'ifconfig' shows no link or the nic is recognized as a wireless adapter, this can change random after a reboot. Tried all the condemnations from the pfsense 'Tuning and Troubleshooting network cards' guide with no luck. We have a spare firewall and are more than willing to resolve this problem.

The firewall is of this type: https://www.applianceshop.eu/security-appliances/19-rack-appliances/pfsense-based-30/sense-quad-core-gen3-10gb-ssd.html

            Using a intel 10GbE SFP+ Intel 82599ES nic.

Did you install the latest firmware on this card?
Is this card a native Intel or re-branded NIC?

What did the support of them said about the compatibility of their hardware?

              Using a intel 10GbE SFP+ Intel 82599ES nic.

Or is it more a NIC that uses only the Intel 82599ES chip?
Perhaps the false SFP+ transceivers or cheap crap ones?
And the right fiber cables are in usage?
Again, is this a real Intel NIC?

The nic is a original intel, before pfsense version 2.2.3 it was working fine. I suspect the sfp's and try to switch them.

The latest ix driver from Intel was imported to 2.3 this week. None of the Intel 10G cards we sell or have available show any of the issues described in this thread, so not sure whether or not that fixes it, but it's definitely worth trying.
