Individual Traffic Shaping for clients
-
Im woundering if this is possible. I am running a WRAP (266mhz 128MB RAM) with PFsense RELENG_1_SNAPSHOT_03-26-2006. Is there a way that I can assign say a few different levels of bandwith over wireless interface per person. For instance I wanna give 1 group of people X amount of bandwith and another group a different amout. The way I understand it you create pools and you can assign people to pools, what I was woundering is if I could give each individual user a dedicated amount of bandwith, or their own pool I guess you could say. If this is possible can a WRAP's processing power handle this kind of shaping with 50 light users? Havent wanted to mess with my config and play around with it while people are on the system.
thanks in advance

Unless they have changed it, the only way I know of how to do this is by IP's. You will have to setup either a subnet or a specific IP you want shaped.
Basically it is nothing but time consuming. Rules follow Queues. So basically have your Queues setup for your different types of bandwidth how much /etc/etc, and on your Rules this is where you are going to specify what Traffic/IP's/Subnet, gets ran into the Queue with X amount of bandwidth you specified.
