PfSense :: HE.net :: Client FreeBSD not getting any IPv6
-
Hello All
I am a little confused at this point, and nothing came up on Google, hope someone can shed some light on my situation.
I have successfully configured a tunnel with HE using pfSense 2.2.6-RELEASE (amd64). I can ping everyone, go everywhere, and even get 10/10 from http://test-ipv6.com/ – as long as I use a non-FreeBSD machine on the LAN to do so. With my FreeBSD 10.2 system, I cannot get any IPv6 whatsoever.
Given that the document available on the pfSense site differs from my pfSense interface, just trying to confirm that I have not done something stupid -- specially on the DHCPv6 section -- which I doubt.
However, as stated, if I connect a non-FreeBSD machine on the LAN, that gets and IPv6, whereas my FreeBSD 10.2 amd64 does not.
Here is what I have in my rc.conf
ifconfig_em0="DHCP" ### this is for IPv4
ifconfig_em0_ipv6="inet6 accept_rtadv"
rtsold_enable="YES"My understanding is, that is all I need to get an IPv6 on my system, but apparently not. Any help / pointer will be highly appreciated.
Thanks and regards

How exactly do you have the router advertisements tab setup on pfSense?
For the lines you show in rc.conf, it would attempt to configure itself via SLAAC, which would only be active in Assisted or Unmanaged modes on the RA tab. For FreeBSD to use DHCPv6 it requires some extra config depending on the DHCPv6 client in use.
