I'm doing an install on a Hyper-V server for a friend and when setting up OpenVPN for a client to communicate with IPVanish you need to enter a username and password in the /conf/ipvanish.auth folder. When I try to load that folder I get the following message:

Loading a directory is not supported.

If I browse to the folder and attempt to edit and then save I get:

      Failed to write file.

I didn't run into this problem on my own box at home and I'm wondering what the reason is and how I can get around it? The only difference is this is a full install as a VM and my own box is a nanobsd install. I'm sure there's a way to change privelages somewhere but I can't seem to find any info on it.

      Anyone have any idea?

      Thanks.
