What steps should I take in directly moving the config from a custom pfsense I made, to a 2440 I ordered off the pfsense store? I imagine I'll have to edit the interface names in the config, but last time I tried that, it still fubar'd the config and I had to recreate it all from scratch. Would prefer to know the correct answer for this on this next project I am doing.

      Thanks.

Edit the interface names in config.xml. It works. Just moved two APU configs to SG-8860s yesterday.

Don't use search and replace unless you evaluate and approve each replacement. You're practically guaranteed to have at least one occurrence of an interface name in one of the base64 blobs.

Please make a config backup and create a condig.xml and then make a copy of this file please in another
folder new created on your PC. And then please only work on the copy file and not on the original one!
If you are failing you must only be copying the xml file once more and can try it again!!!

It's a new device so one can try it on the bench while the old one is in service. ezpz.
