PfSense Community installed accidentally on SG-2440
-
I recently bought a pfSense SG-2440 which came only on an 8GB internal storage. I then decided to buy a 128GB mSATA drive and install it into the firewall. I then apparently accidentally installed the Community version when i reinstalled onto the 128GB SSD, is there a way to convert easily to the factory edition? I'm hoping I don't have to reinstall to just few the few additional features?
Any advise or comments appreciated.

Here we go. There are two pfSense versions as I am informed right.
- A special ADI pfSense version as an custom image according and matching exactly to the hardware sold
from the pfSense or Netgate shop, pre-tuned abd pre-installed usually on the eMMC storage of the units. - The community version for all other users and customers for their own hardware
If you install the community image on a mSATA and change then the boot order in the BIOS you would be able to
test it out or plain the installation process, not more but also not less. But if you want now to switch back to the pre-installed custom ADI pfSense version, you only need to change or
switch back the boot order in the BIOS to boot from the eMMC storage and format the mSATA, thats it.One thing from me above that, as a customer or owner of a SG-xxxx or RCC-VE units from the Netgate or
pfSense shop you should create an account and register that unit and then I would suggesting only to go
with the pre-tuned custom ADI image for that units. Its worth the time to try out to customizing or tune it
like the custom image is done by the staff or developers. Custom image over the community version! - A special ADI pfSense version as an custom image according and matching exactly to the hardware sold

If you register the unit and login to the portal, you can download a full installation image for the factory firmware.
It's technically possible to switch using a firmware upgrade, but it's not recommended. You can backup the config and reinstall and be up and running in a few minutes in most cases.
