Slow internet behind PFsense
-
I have a Zotac ZBox with a Intel Celeron N2930 (quad-core, 1.83 GHz) with 4gb of RAM as my PFsense box.
Setup: MODEM>PFSENSE>SWITCH>FUTURE AP
I have 3 vlans routing to my switch from my pfsense box. I am able to access the internet, but some pages do not load or youtube videos load extremely slow. No additional packages installed. Anyone elese had this problem?

With the information given this can be anything from the internet in front of your modem to a saturated WLAN channel.
Break it down, connect a single computer to the LAN of your pfSense. Problem still there? Add the switch. Test again. And so on.
If you post again, maybe, just maybe, give a hint about your used pfSense version, 32/64bit, etc. -
I am running the 64-bit version. I have connected directly to my pfsense box and the connection issues still occurs. So it has to be my pfsense box. What else kind of information would you like? not really sure what I need to provide to you.

Embedded or full install,
Interface, VLAN and probably trunk configuration, Switch type and configuration etc.You can get to your pfSense's LAN interface?
-
Yes I can get to the lan interface. Sounds like the issue might be my realtek nic on my zbox. Could that cause the issue? The WAN speed is horrible.

You beat me to it, but those were my thoughts exactly. You most likely either have a hardware issue or bad cables. I would start by grabbing 2 PCIe (if you have the slots), Intel NICs and all pre-fabbed CAT6.

I can not insert PCIs into my zbox. It is a mini pc. I just bought this box and specifically for running PFsense. What are my options?
-
you can try 2.3 test version of pfsense. it has some newer drivers for realtek nics.

Alright, well I don't know how much that zbox set you back, but you have to isolate the issue somehow. I would suggest testing a new install on different hardware. If your symptoms go away, which I believe they will, you know your issues are coming from the zbox and it'll have to be replaced.
You also try USB NIC's, but I don't know how reliable that will be.
