Block from LAN but not wireless (wifi)
I been wondering because i am new to pfsense…is it possible to block certain website from LAN but not in wireless or wifi...if its possible can i have a configuration or a guide os that i can follow...
you can block whatever you want.. be it a block all rule on a specific interface or specific to source IP that would hit said interface.
Have you looked over
but is it possible to block a certain website in LAN but not in wifi or wireless
Yes… is your wifi on its own interface, or sharing your lan interface? If so then you would have to create rule to block based upon the IP.. .so wifi IPs blocked, lan IPs allowed.
Again as stated you can allow or block anything you want.. Just create the rule..
If you can not identify between wifi and lan uses either based upon the interface they talk to pfsense on, or the source IP they are coming from then no. Which is why is normally a good idea to keep things like wifi and wired on different interfaces in pfsense.
could you give a guide or something that i can manage to used on…am i trying to block a certain website in LAN but not in my WLAN. i used first create an aliaes then i go to firewall rule and add a rule but after that i manage to block a certain website but it affect the WLAN too...
dude does your wifi come into pfsense on different interface? If not then you would have to create your rules to block only specific IPs that are the ones you want to block, or allow depending on how you right the rule.
