Igmpproxy
-
Hi,
the igmpproxy should be on the latest version.
Updated igmpproxy to the latest version. #4672
BUT: it still can´t speak igmpv3 on the downstream interface. I must have this for the next generation of iptv which uses the source specific multicast feature of the igmpv3.
Is ist possible the actual igmpproxy to replace with the mc proxy: https://mcproxy.realmv6.org/

For 2.3 this was in the announcement post:
IGMP Proxy does not work with VLAN interfaces. Bug 6099. This is a little-used component. If you’re not sure what it is, you’re not using it.
https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/6099
So everyone with triple play services seems affected as in general voice, tv and internet will come in over vlans.
I guess i could solve the wan side, as i have a managed switch in front to seperate the voice vlan off for the provider box as they do not release the sip information.
So i could connect the tv vlan to my pfsense box on a seperate interface and not tag the vlan number. Than it is a plain interface and IGMP proxy might work upstream. But same issue might be downstream.. :(
Have also another interface free for lan side, but i would like to use the tablets to view tv also, so i need wireless segement and wired segement both with it. Cannot fix that without vlans working with current 4 ports on the device :(

I had this working with my UVerse TV sitting on it's own dedicated interface on my pfSense box with 2.2.6, but it seems to be broken with the 2.3 update.
I suspect it has to do with either upstream forwarding or IGMP snooping. My TV STB's work for about about 6 minutes, then when the Snooping times out, the connection gets dropped. However, if I wait a bit, it does reconnect again, but then works until just after the timeout.
Any way to get the igmpproxy which was distributed with 2.2.6 included with the next update? As I understand it, it was patched and these patches were not included with 2.3. I could be wrong.
I also have a /29 fixed IP block which was also working with the IPTV and traffic was separated onto two dedicated ethernet ports on the pfSense box. The /29 is working, but IGMP is no longer.
