Remote Access

Hi,
I'm new to pfSense, and I have a basic question – and could use some simple advice.
I have the most recent version of pfSense running at my house, and I would like to set it up so that I can VPN into my home network from a friends, work, etc. Is IPSec what I would use? If so, is there a guide to how to do it?
I have found the guide for how to use IPSec to connect another LAN using a pfSense box (which I would also like to do) ... but I can't find the information I need on how to VPN through my pfSense box at home.
Thanks in advance.

You could also use OpenVPN - there is a lot of documentation and various stickies at the top of the OpenVPN sub-forum.
Once you have a VPN in place (IPsec or OpenVPN) you need to ensure that the appropriate routes are in place so that hosts on both sides know how to talk to each other.

IMO, IPSec is more suited to permanent site-site connections.
OpenVPN is more secure, but needs a client-side app. PPTP may be a better choice if you need occasional access from various places- you can use the stock VPN wizard on Windows boxes.
