PPPOE WAN Fails to Reconnect
-
I just experienced an issue like this one - https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/1811.
My post including logs - https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/1811#note-4.at 5:50pm today it appears my ISP made some changes that triggered a disconnect at 2 of my sites.
Both are TPG NBN Fibre PPPOE connections.Running: 2.3-RELEASE (amd64) built on Mon Apr 11 18:10:34 CDT 2016 FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASE under VMware ESXI 5.5 & 6.0.
Both ppp connections failed to reconnect automatically, getting stuck on "ppp [wan_link0] LCP: state change Closed –> Initial"
Clicking Connect on the interface page successfully established the connection. Remote site was reset but I'm sure it would have behaved like the local site if I was able to access it.I believe I have experienced this issue previously but was some time ago.
Connections normally reconnect fine after a remote disconnect. As noted in the Issue post the logs indicate a change of concentrator.
Any thoughts or possible solutions to prevent this happening again.
regards,
Andrew -
I've got the same problem, resetting the modem did nothing so it seems the router actually is stuck, i clicked on the Save button on the PPOE settings page and i guess it initiated a new connection. I've had this problem about 3 times in the last 3 months, this is the first time i've bothered to look.
