SG-8860

Hello -
I'm now looking at the SG-8860 with the extra 120GB storage. Two questions:
1. Is the extra storage in addition to the on-board 64GB flash?
2. Will this unit be enough for a 50Mbps internet connection, squid, snort (medium amount of rules), and openvpn with 4-5 clients? -

Cool device!
1. Is the extra storage in addition to the on-board 64GB flash?
Pending on your configuration this can be done, but this will be then after an update or upgrade
gone or will causing more or less problems besides. I would go with the eMMC storage of 64 GB or the
120 GB SSD extra storage! It will be also in my opinion the default configuration as I am informed right.2. Will this unit be enough for a 50Mbps internet connection, squid, snort (medium amount of rules), and openvpn with 4-5 clients?
It will be enough for 1 GBit/s routing at the WAN, squid & SquidGuard, Snort and big amount of rules,
VLANs & QoS and on top of this pfBlockerNG or OpenVPN with ease and no worries about what you want
to realize. -
Thank you.

For pfSense as a firewall, Snort and VPN I would go only with the eMMC storage, but together with Squid
I would recommend a SSD or mSATA drive as storage.
