      I need to build an IP based security system that lives in it's own self contained network.
      I want to use PfSense as the routing platform so more PoE NIC's can be added as more cameras are needed.

      As of March 11th 2016 ZoneMinder officially "Just Works" on FreeBSD.

      Is this something that could be installed alongside PfSense in package format?

      Combining the two would minimize complexity for users at client sites as well as easing the installation process.
