      Hi Everyone,

      I'm trying to configure NUT on the latest pfsense version with a SNMP UPS (APC SRT 8000)

      The service refuses to start :

      [2.3-RELEASE][root@pfSense-vdmz1.fft]/usr/local/pkg: /usr/local/etc/rc.d/nut.sh start
      starting snmp-ups
      Network UPS Tools - UPS driver controller 2.7.3
      Error: no UPS definitions found in ups.conf
      snmp-ups failed to start

      However the config seems to be generated :

      [2.3-RELEASE][root@pfSense-vdmz1.fft]/usr/local/pkg: cat /usr/local/etc/nut/ups.conf
      user=root
      [APC SRT 8000]
      driver=snmp-ups
      port=192.168.0.190
      mibs=ietf
      snmp_version=v1
      community=public
      pollfreq=30

      Someone has any idea ?

      Thank you for advance,

        Hi,

        same behaviour here…  :-\

        Monitoring a local USB attached ups is working fine.

        as you see same error messages:

        /usr/local/etc/rc.d/nut.sh start:

        starting snmp-ups
        Network UPS Tools - UPS driver controller 2.7.4
        Error: no UPS definitions found in ups.conf
        snmp-ups failed to start

        cat /usr/local/etc/nut/ups.conf:

        user=root
        [SNMP-UPS]
        driver=snmp-ups
        port=192.168.0.43
        mibs=ietf
        snmp_version=v2c

          The first one is easy: the ups name cannot have spaces in it, so "APC SRT 8000" is an invalid ups name and will be ignored.

          The second one not so much. "SNMP-UPS" is a valid ups name. I tested the ups.conf posted against NUT 2.7.4 and do not receive the "no UPS definitions found in ups.conf" error.
