Also, just in case, make sure UPnP is disabled.

CMB thank you for your help and I do understand how complex fixing these problems are but were do I go from here in terms of finding the fault with the traffic shaper wizard. Apart from a full reinstall and then adding each package at a time I am at a loss.

I have sent you a simpler config that gives the same problem to see if you can find any simularites that is causing this.

If I have exorsted you time I thank you for the input you have give and I will have to wait for the shaper on 2.0.

Another question: What size CF card are you using?

If it's a 512MB image, there is an issue with the current 512MB images in that they're really coming out 1GB. A fix just went into the tools branch that might fix this for the next run.

In the meantime, you can try the 20090912-0341-nanobsd image and it does work on a 512MB CF (I just used it tonight).

It's been noticed, and hopefully the next one up will be fixed.

    @hrun:

    hi
    error on upgrade
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: unlink_file() in /usr/local/www/system_firmware.php on line 59

    http://snapshots.pfsense.org/FreeBSD_RELENG_7_2/pfSense_RELENG_1_2/updates/pfSense-Full-Update-1.2.3-20090925-0005.tgz

The update file isn't going to fix the problem until it's installed. Manually fix as described previously in this thread, then you can upgrade.

Alternately, I suppose you could also just check the "Disable Hardware Checksum Offloading" option, which would have the same effect.

Not sure how that might impact the ALIX overall, if at all, but if it is problematic it might be better to leave it off anyhow.

You may need to reflash with a more current version, or look in RCS and replicate the upgrade code to your system by hand (reflashing is easier) - those bugs should be fixed.

I performed a manual upgrade last night without problems. I started with an image from Sunday the 13th, and upgraded to yesterday (17th) and it worked.

Automatic upgrade still seem to have issues, but the manual ones are fine.

Yes, it's possible, but how simple it is depends on how much you want to spend on it ;)

You can use DynDNS.com's Custom DNS service to do what you're after in terms of mapping your hostname to the changing IP.  However the update clients only support one IP per hostname (as does the API).  They have other services (under their other brands) though so if you're happy to spend more money you'll almost certainly find they can help you.
