old opteron 6128 with server board

I am curious if anyone has used the older Opteron 6100 cpu and server board to run PFsense for the home if so how well diod it do , I am thinking about doing this and the attaching my ROuter as wifi

I would expect it to run fine though it will be expensive to run compared with a newer more efficient hardware. And probably loud. I you already have it you're unlikely to offset the cost of buying new in energy saving. Give it a try.
