-
Hello all,
I have a NetGate 1100 that has been reset via hardware button the NG isn't going back to default I'm in the CMD line and in Marvell>> does anyone know where i go from here i want to factory reset this NetGate how do get the image for NG 1100? -
Get yourself a USB key, and then go here https://www.netgate.com/tac-support-request
Fill in the forum.
You'll get a mail with the firmware.
Do as told : install Etcher, and use that tool to 'burn' the firmware to the USB drive.See the pfSense 1100 documentation for a guidance how to install the firmware.

Not for sure, manual wrotes "on same appliances", picture shows a small pin hole at SG-1100, may be thats the reset button?

@fsc830 On the 1100 and some other devices that button does a hard reset/reboot, not "revert config to factory defaults."
"3. Recessed Reset Button (performs a hard reset, immediately turning the system off)"
So...not recommended unless the device is locked up or similar, since it risks file system damage like any power-off would.
Netgate will send this instruction URL with the firmware (for free) but the page is here:

Thanks for clarifying, but this matches with OP statement:

"Reset" does not mandatory mean reset to factory defaults.Regards

@fsc830 In this system it does not do a FR at all, just a system-level reset like you'd find on a desktop PC.

Thank you I will try the firmware re-installation.

So, it's like the power cord : a perfect way for totally messing up the disk file system.
@voltron7552 : every time you reset the device with that button, or the power is removed witthout doing a user initiated power down using the GUI or console SSH access, option 6, run asap this : How to Run a pfSense Software File System Check (5/2020)
This is not optional.
