You need to install as UFS. Or disable the i915 graphics driver that allows hotplug on the HDMI port.
There is a resource issue when trying to load both the i915 driver and the required ZFS modules in a UEFI system. It runs out of staging space. If you look at the beginning of the boot sequence you will likely see an error showing that.
      See: https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/releases/22-01_2-6-0.html?highlight=minnow#installer

The UEFI loader has recently been updated in dev snapshots and will hopefully allow that in the future.

This won't work on a Minnowboard at all - the MBT can only run CE installers.

As for 2.6 - that's an odd thing to have happen - can you install UFS on the system?

I opened support ticket 1145031294 to ask about the latest for my SG-1100 and MBT-2220, and TAC replied with:

          For MBT-2220

Please use the following link to access the 22.05 firmware:

          https://nc.netgate.com/nextcloud/s/<stuff>

Here is the SHA256 checksum to verify if needed:

          https://nc.netgate.com/nextcloud/s/<morestuff>

          https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/install/download-installer-image.html#verifying-the-integrity-of-the-download

          Verify you're using this image:

          pfSense-plus-memstick-ADI-22.05-RELEASE-amd64.img.gz

We recommend using https://etcher.io to write the image.

          Reinstall instructions:

          https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/solutions/sg-2220/reinstall-pfsense.html

but maybe they got the MBT-2220 and the SG-2220 mixed up, because the reinstall link is for the SG-2220. (BTW, having two different models with the same digits is really confusing!!!)

Don't get me started on the C-2758 and XG-2758.

Yes, sorry about that. Use the 2.6 memstick installer and install UFS and you should be good to go.

Thanks! Installed and running in a sandbox now. I'll wait until after hours to swap it back into Production.

                BTW, the documentation at:

                https://docs.netgate.com/platforms/minnowboard/pfsense-dual-ethernet.html

should probably be updated to include:

                • Instructions to choose any option other than ZFS!

                • A note about pressing F2 to set the firmware to boot from the USB drive. I'm 99% sure I did not change this from its default after I bought this in 2018, but it was set with the USB drive at the bottom of the list, and it would not boot from the installer.

Right now the instructions are way too simple, e.g. "Follow the prompts to install pfSense software."

I've spent 2.5 days fighting with this box now.

And don't forget the PCEngines APU that was sold as the Netgate APU2, not to be confused with the PCEngines APU2. Of course no one would get that confused because pfsense now reports it as an APU.

To be fair the APU2 didn't exist at that time. Neither did the APU4. ๐Ÿ˜‰

If you're working on documentation, you may want to add to the SG-1100 usb/serial console instructions, driver installation instruction section, for macOS:

                        https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/solutions/sg-1100/connect-to-console.html

that, on any modern version of macOS, the Prolific driver needs to be explicitly enabled in System Preferences: Security & Privacy after installation. Otherwise it won't load.

The Prolific driver page does mention it in the fine print:

                        https://prolificusa.com/product/pl2303gl-8-pin-usb-uart-bridge-controller/

but I missed it the first time, and I spent a few hours trying to figure out why I couldn't get a console up, despite I knew for 100% sure that I'd done it before. But last time was a few years ago, before my Mac required driver signing.

The best bet for documentation corrections/changes it to open a redmine for it.

I see it! Thanks! I'll probably forget all about this and have to read it again next time I have to install.
