      I decided to reboot it from the console

      Usually that results in a partial install. If you find any issues you can/should reinstall.

      Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
      When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

        @steveits Thanks. I only went to the console to reboot after right at 20 minutes. The only packages I have installed are IPSEC and Wireguard, and I did use the proper image for my device. In previous upgrades it didn't take anywhere near that long to get going, but I'll know going forward to allow more time before I resort to other measures.

          15 minutes is probably not long enough.

          Agreed. Mine was 20 minutes from 22.05 to 23.01 here on my edge, and one of my updates in the past took over an hour when changing FreeBSD releases.

            @rcoleman-netgate Since you’re here :) can the update page default to 15 minute timer and still check every 30s in the background? 😂 seems safer…2 minutes implies it’ll take 2 minutes…

              @steveits You know my answer to this, right?

                @rcoleman-netgate I agree with Steve. As a relative newcomer to Netgate/pfSense, the 2 minute timer suggests that is how long it is expected to take. Given the lengthy delay it was my assumption that something had gone wrong with my upgrade.

                  @ramizak (since you're new here)... you're welcome to do what I haven't told @SteveITS to do... and that's open a redmine feature request at https://redmine.pfsense.org and get it added to the list of other requests 😁

                    @rcoleman-netgate Meh, I'll bite and create one. I'm 0-1 on those today already. :-/

                        @rcoleman-netgate 1-1, so far :)

                          @rcoleman-netgate Even though Steve is going to do it, I'll do it also. Perhaps more than one request might give it a bit more credence.

                          Thanks,

                          Mike
