You will have to change System / Update / System Update to Branch: Latest development snapshots (Experimental 2.7.x DEVEL) in order to see/load 2.7.0 development version of pfSense.

          • Do a Backup first
          • Do a config backup second
          • Organize a Console cable if not present (serial)
          • Organize a USB stick ready for installation
          • Organize 2.7 Devel and 2.6 image from pfSense
server to be sure to reinstall from scratch
            if it is really needed.

system > update > update setting

          • choose the right branch for 2.7 Devel (top)
          • check "create a boot environment" (below)
          • click on save (bottom)

          system > update

          • have a look now if it is showing you the
            upgrade option on that page.

          Wich hardware you are using?
