update to 2.7.0

    hi!

    i have 2.6.0 installed and i keep reading that 2.7.0 is avalible, but how do i install it ?
    if i do a search on the dashboard it still says that 2.6.0 is the latest stable version.

      You will have to change System / Update / System Update to Branch: Latest development snapshots (Experimental 2.7.x DEVEL) in order to see/load 2.7.0 development version of pfSense.

        • Do a Backup first
        • Do a config backup second
        • Organize a Console cable if not present (serial)
        • Organize a USB stick ready for installation
        • Organize 2.7 Devel and 2.6 image from pfSense
          server to be sure to reinstall from scratch
          if it is really needed.

        system > update > update setting

        • choose the right branch for 2.7 Devel (top)
        • check "create a boot environment" (below)
        • click on save (bottom)

        system > update

        • have a look now if it is showing you the
          upgrade option on that page.
