      @crgbt

Is CLI in the WebGui in that case?
Did you try out the console (serial) and then
      choosing option (13)?

@Dobby_ The CLI output in my post is from the ‘real’ CLI (via SSH), rather than the Web GUI ‘Command Prompt’ page - I didn’t realise you could run the options through the ‘Command Prompt’ page actually!

Further update, I’ve tried forcing a pkg metadata update using ‘pkg-static update -f’ and a manual update check using ‘pfSense-upgrade -d -c’ with no success - the same errors are present, even after a system halt, power down (power out for 10 sec) and powered back up.

I was able to fix mine.
Go to system-update then Update settings and change it to previous version 23.01 and save it.
In console run: pkg-static clean -ay; pkg-static install -fy pkg pfSense-repo pfSense-upgrade
Once that completes go back to GUI and change back to current stable 23.05. Once that has saved, then go back to console and run the option 13 to upgrade. Worked like a champ for me.

@s0m3f00l And you made sure to go into the GUI, to the update settings and change it tp previous version 23.01 then save before you did that, correct?

@s0m3f00l Well, that is unfortunate. I guess try that with other suggestions and see if combo of this works. It worked for me on bare metal, so was worth posting. Good luck!

Okay this one appears to work.

The basic process appears to be:

                    1. In Gui Set System Update to previous version

                    2. Goto console and enter 'pkg-static update -f'

                    3. In console enter 'pkg-static clean -ay; pkg-static install -fy pkg pfSense-repo
                      pfSense-upgrade
                      '

                    4. 'exit' the console

                    5. Goto GUI and change System Update to Current Stable (23.05) version

                    6. Goto admin page and use option '13'

                    7. Update starts and completes as normal.

Thanks to @Boboki for starting my path to upgrading.

                    See output below:

@Boboki thanks, your method worked for me! With a slight variation: in the last step I just pressed 'upgrade' in the Gui, instead of going back to command prompt.

Reconecting the WAN Port solves the problem.
                              I verified this on a Netgate 6100 and a Netgate 2100.
