I can´t upgrade from 2.5.2 to 2.7.0
-
You have to go through 2.6. Use the instructions above to upgrade to that if you have tried to upgrade to 2.7 and failed.
-
i do the commands
then i tried to upgrade from the web but the web don´t do anything
also i tried from console and nothing
-
You didn't set the repo branch to 2.5.2 first. So it just reinstalled the 2.7 pkgs.
-
@stephenw10 so sorry i am new with this system, how i can set the repo to 2.5.2?
-
In System > Updates > Update Settings
-
@stephenw10 i only have this
-
Ok, try using 2.6 directly then. That should still allow you to upgrade from 2.5.2
-
@stephenw10 today works
upgrade to 2.6, now i have to try with 2.7
-
-
Looks good. Good luck!
Make sure you have a config backup and a recovery plan if you need it.

Hi! @stephenw10 how are you today? I tried to update my main pfsense server, which is installed on a Dell PowerEdge R6525 server, with three interfaces connected, one for the LAN, another for the WAN and one in trunk mode for all the interfaces of my company, and I had the following error message when trying to go from version 2.6 to version 2.7
"hwrm_cfa_l2_filter_alloc command returned invalid params error"
what i can do with this?
Going from version 2.5.2 to version 2.6 there was no problem but now I have the problem with this latest update.
-
It's an error from the updated bnxt driver. Is the NIC still functioning as expected?
That's not an upgrade problem though, you should probably start a new thread for that.
-
@stephenw10 no, the interface did not work as needed, i will open a new thread
-
Probably this: https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/14569
Or rather this: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=269133
