      Hello,

      Does pfSense support dynamic DNS for the client side?

      I will explain:
      Say I have a static IP I use to manage the FW and backend server, but at times I need to be mobile, hence I cannot access from this IP (yes, I know I can VPN to that IP and then access from there, but I prefer not).

      If at a the relevant FW rule I could add an alias of dynamic client IP as an allowed source, and when I access to the targets (while have a suitable dynamic dns client app on my laptop), pfSense will reverse the IP to the base, fixed, dynamic FQDN it has, and if there is a match - it will allow the access.

        However, it is highly recommended to go over a VPN.

        Just add an hosts alias and enter the host name. Use this alias in the pass rule to allow access.
        pfSense will resolve the host name periodically. As far as I know, the default interval for resolving is 5 minutes.

          @viragomann Nice!
          Is there a place I can change this schedule check?

            System > Advanced > Firewall & NAT > Aliases Hostnames Resolve Interval
