Installation on UEFI crash on DELL Server, must switch to standard bios, why ?
-
@stephenw10 Booting on USB key works perfectly with FreeBSD, there's no crash, and I'm taken to the installation menu.
Freebsd without pfsense is not crashing, so it's really come from this 2.7 version ! -
Hmm, interesting. I'm unsure what might be causing that. I would open a bug report to track it: https://redmine.pfsense.org/
I asked about it internally. If any of out engineers have seen this I'll let you know.

@stephenw10 Regarding boot/start menu, I had similar "graphics glicth" on my Dell desktop with Plus 22.05

I couldn't test it more, because it was my main pfSense box. -
@stephenw10 Hi, any number to follow bug report please? Does a new release will coming soon?
-
What's the bug report number?
-
@stephenw10 You says "Hmm, interesting. I'm unsure what might be causing that. I would open a bug report to track it: https://redmine.pfsense.org/"
This why i request the bug report number to track this issue.
If you know when pfsense CE new release will come too ?
Thanks. -
Yes, so did you open a bug report for it?
No one else has seen it here.
-
@stephenw10 There's been a misunderstanding, I thought it was you who was going to open a ticket, but I understand that it's up to me.
-
It's better if you open one since you have access to the hardware for any testing and can better describe how to replicate.

@Elrick75 Please make sure the BIOS is fully updated. I've had some weirdness with newest version of 2.7 CE where the boot would hang till I upgraded the BIOS.
That server may have the lifecycle feature so it'll upgrade the BIOS and firmwares for you.

@Darkk Bios was already updated to the lastest version.
I always follow firmware upgrade on all my device.
