      I upgraded from 2.6 to 2.7. Before the upgrade, all unbound DNS logs were going to my syslog server with no issues. After I upgraded, unbound service crashed several times. If I manually restart unbound, I'll see a few logs slip through, but then it stops. All other logs are going to my syslog server with no other issues after upgrade. It's just unbound that has issues.

      I now have to reflash my pfsense box and restore from a backup (and I'm very glad that I do backups before any upgrades).

        Is there anything logged when it crashes?

        Is that actually 2.7.0 or 2.7.2?

          I upgraded to the latest available on pfsense, which showed to be 2.7.0.

          I just reflashed my box back to 2.6.0, restored from backup xml, and unbound is working just fine.

            And there were no logs that I could see. I looked but couldn't find any.

              @bassplayaman re: latest, see https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/releases/2-7-1.html#troubleshooting

              Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
              When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.
