      Hi Everyone,

      I'm facing an issue when UEFI PXE boot using FOG it's not working with kea DHCP but the legacy boot works fine. However when I change the DHCP to ISC DHCP UEFI PXE boot works.

      Is there there a fix for this issue?

        @Alanesi

        Read Netgate Adds Kea DHCP to pfSense Plus Software Version 23.09

        If you're all fine with what's been said over there, you can use kea.
        In your case : use ISC DHCP ๐Ÿ˜Š

        Edit : and where are the logs ??

          @Gertjan Yes, ISC DHCP for now but it will be removed from a future version of pfSense.

            @Alanesi

            Of course it will be removed in the future ๐Ÿ˜Š

            As it isn't maintained anymore
            and
            If someone finds a huge security issue
            and
            Maintainers (ISC DHCP) will not addresses the issue as "hey, a better one without issues is available(KEA)"
            and
            Netgate (pfSEnse) can't/will not address the issue
            and
            [more, for me unknown conditions, you pick one or more]
            then
            Yes, dhcpd will get removed.

            My estimation : 2028 ? Or 2029 ... I'm not sure.

            Keep in mind : the initial dnsforwader "dnsmasq", present during the early days of pfSense is still there.
            Then came unbound, the resolver, but dnsmasq never left, it's still avaible for the hard core forwarders.

              @Gertjan said in KEA DHCP issue with PXE boot using FOG:

              This is good enough. Hopefully, Kea will be ready by this time.
