I've set up notifications via SMTP. Now what? I can't find any documentation about, or menu with the events that can be turned on to trigger notifications ? The only one I found was Arpwatch.

In the context of home networking, what notifications are you using ?

Also, is there a way to get certain specific block rules to trigger an email notification ?

      thanks

@CharlesT There isn’t a list; the ones that exist are all sent. WAN down, ddns IP change, etc. Packages may have options though even there it’s usually on or off.

Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to reboot, or more depending on packages, and device or disk speed.

In the Packages forum you can find a PHP 'cron' script (install also the cron pfSEnse package) that that send a mail as soon as an update, pfSense, package or freebsd package, is avaible.
This one shows you how easy it is to 'mail' something.

These are the others that I know of :

          PHP failures will mail you.
System errors ("crashes") normally mails you.
A pfSense boot, or reboot, will mail you.
DynDNS IP change will mail you.

The NUT package send also mails when there are power issue.

And no, before you ask : you can't receive a mail when your WAN goes down ^^

No "help me" PM's please. Use the forum, the community will thank you.
Edit : and where are the logs ??
