Hmm, interesting. Not sure we ever seen anyone do that with emulated x86 hardware. Which I assume you're using and not the aarch64 install image?
Check the install logs after it fails like that.

I use exactly the following image
netgate-installer-v1.0-RC-aarch64-20240919-1435.img
after disc selection it should pull and load from netgate servers but this error message pops up

Ah, yes that would be expected to fail. That image is only for the 1100 and 2100 Netgate devices.
Can it emulate x86 hardware instead?

I made a few changes as in the picture, but it still doesn't work

proxmox is running stable on raspberry pi 5 with version 8.3.1

Can you select an x86 CPU type there? It appears to offer other x86 parts for emulation.
If you can then the amd64 image should work. Probably.
