after upgrade pfsense 2.0 with installed VMware tools
to pfsense 2.1 it's crashes on detect LAN card
if replace .virtualDev = "vmxnet" on standard "Vlance" they boot normaly -

There is no pfSense 2.0 or 2.1

It seems you cannot use the precompiled vmtools and have to build your own.
Maybe someone could precompile them again and put a link to the new binaries into the sticky. -
