Squid typo
-
on the squid page
ERROR
The requested URL could not be retrieveddown the line it states
The following error was encountered: Connection to Failed
"Connection to Failed does not make much sense"
squid/2.6.STABLE21
also on the package list for 1.2.1 rc1 2.6.21 it states BETA on the site and not STABLE like the squid page reports
-
Beta is used for the pfsense package… it's using the szable package of squid but it's marked as a beta package FOR pfsense...
connection for failed ?
which site are you trying to connect to ?
-
i tried connecting to http://10.0.0.1/
which is my carp vip for the firewall
btw my pfsense install is running on port 443 https
-
so i suppose you're not using the checkbox "do not proxy rfc1918" ?
-
correct
-
does it also show this if the box is checked ?
i believe this might be because there's no sitename… i'll crosscheck the squid error-files...
you have an error-id ? -
if the box is checked since traffic does not get forwarded i get no error and it just times out
if the box is not checked i get the error listed above
i did not find an error-id
-
hrmm…
is there a site listening on port 80 on 10.0.0.1 ? -
no there isn't its supposed to go to the error page but it seems like the error page does not like the internal ip?
the 10.0.0.1 is my vip carp ip
-
thats irritating…
but here in my setup it's equal...no site listening on the host and no error...
seems normal !?
-
so the REAL LAN IP of the firewall is 10.0.0.2 but the VIP is 10.0.0.1
if i type http://10.0.0.1
here is the error page i get
