Guys, we really appreciate all of your hardwork both to developers, tester and not to forget all the bug loggers ;) I wish to get 2.0 available before X'mas….

As a fellow newbie I predict Pfsense 2.0 RC1 will be out when it is ready - which by Newbie decree issued today IS THIS MONTH DECEMBER 2010 :P

Peering more deeply into the crystal ball I am seeing a release date of before Christmas or Festivus  - but I may be wrong.

It could be around the original month of the Festivus ::)

As has always been the case, pfSense releases will happen when they are ready and not a minute before.  The developers are not in the habit of publishing extended release dates.

There are still a lot of open tickets or at least ones with feedback needed. Don't count on a release this year…

                http://blog.pfsense.org/?p=576

there aren't that many critical issues remaining (we won't ever have 0 issues, never have, never will, no software does), assuming the big patch-related ones recently are all sorted as they should now be, we hope to hit RC1 this year. But as always, no promises, it'll be released when it's ready.

Yea, there are quite a lot of tickets open and last I remember reading was, If you want 2.0 released sooner, help to resolve some open tickets and provide feedback if the fixes work or not.

Hope is alive and well, but I won't be placing any bets on RC1 for this year.

                        Something fishy going on.

                        No snapshots for 22 December.

                        RC1 trying to come out?

The Elves are taking an early vacation to Hawaii to flee the cold?

                        :P

To answer the inevitable “when will it be released?” – as always, “when it’s ready”. The release will happen sometime in 2010, but as for a more specific timeline, we can’t provide one at this time.

I'm sure it would help the devs more if instead of posting in this thread you updated any relevant tickets with your feedback (as mentioned in one of the posts at the top of this forum).

Unbound is a package not currently part of the base pfSense system. Please refer to your other thread on Unbound for logging of problems.

Mr. Omero, you sound like you're having a panic attack…I'm sure 2.0 RC1 will not be released in any condition that will reflect poorly on the team. And even if the team leader decides on a release date, that would have to be in agreement with the other members who feel confident in such a date.

Mr. Jits sounds like you are getting jittery on us - I am sure it will be released when everyone on the team is in agreement that there is full confidence in the RC and so on and so forth. ;D
