The VIA C7 will run circles (almost) around the Transmeta Crusoe.  You also have the added advantage of VIA padlock for IPSEC/ OpenVPN as well.  If you've not bought anything, get the VIA instead.

Not to mention that 128MB of RAM is the absolute bare-minimum to run pfSense.

        I can break anything.

            @Kampfwurst:

It should be fine as a firewall for 70-80 Mbit/s.  The low memory is going to hold you back with a large number of clients, snort, etc. though.  All depends on your needs.

            I can break anything.

I will change to 512MB Ram. But the other question is why is Pfsense not booting
              Im using this image. pfSense-2.0-RC1-512mb-i386-20110226-1633-nanobsd.img.gz

I only can start from the CD. But the installation on the SD Card failed.

I tried monowall and used the Image for generic-pc-1.33.img. This works perfekt.

              What is wrong

You need to write the image out the the flash with phyiscaldisk if it is a SD card.  You write to flash with a different PC and put it back into the PC/Thin client and restaret the device.

… and don't forget to uncompress it first.

                  I can break anything.

i think that the problem is that the PF images are for the Serial Output.
But the Thin Client has VGA Output.
How is it whith the installation of New Packages. Is this only possible on the PC version of PFsense or also on the embeded version?

The Hacom images are embedded with VGA output.

Yes, some packages are supported on NanoBSD but not all since you can't write to the disc continually.
Only those that are supported appear in the GUI.

                            So

I have Pfsense 2 RC3 (NO NANO)  now running for more than 4 month on the Futro 210.
The result is that the Transmeta T5800 ist fast enough. I run a OpenVPN Server,IPSEC ( Side to Side) ,PPTP Server, SIP Proxy and about 20 Rules. With my Internet connection ( 13Mbit/1Mbit) i have a cpu load of 20-40%.

PFsense is installed on a 4GB Compact Flash Card.

maybe it helps when you are looking for a HomeFirewall.

                            Christoph

I hope you upgraded the RAM because if you don't have enough and you are running the full pfSense install then swap is going to kill your CF card.

How much swap are you using? It should be reported by the 'top' command or Diagnostics: System Acitivity: in the GUI (same thing).
