How I get NIC real MAC address?
-
I am use the Lenovo V6000 COMPUTER nForce2 Motherboard's NIC(for do PFsense server). the NIC's MAC address and my new buy TP-link NIC has the same MAC address.
Now how I get NIC real MAC address and fix it? ???
-
There must be an error somewhere because they can't have the same MAC address. Even if it were possible the chances of you stumbling upon a card with the same number would be enormous, you'd have more chance of winning the lottery.
Where are you seeing the MAC? During the install? From a switch? Maybe you are seeing a switch MAC, or the port on a router rather than the true MAC.
You can spoof the WAN MAC address on pfSense, but?

So the NIC can't PPPoE connect and can't for LAN. I have find PPPoe logs and search about error in the forum, just I find its has the same MAC address.
I know that should address not the same, so I did not expect for this reason.I was surprised at different times, the onboard NIC and after the purchase of a separate network card address is actually the same.
now How I fix on the PFsense server NIC MAC?

On the line that says MAC Address… :)

The way still can't connect pppoe ,show undefined interface in pppoe logs.

The pictures you posted look to me like you might have a loop.
Do you have both your OPT1 and LAN plugged into the same switch?
edit- wrong interface the first time…

the 192.168.101.3 in other web server NIC. the nfe0 NIC interface is at pfsense server.

Go to /services_dhcp.php bottom of page…
Delete that entry...

Your DHCP leases page shows a static entry for MAC address 00:25:86:9b:72:d3. The static entry means your DHCP server has been configured to always assign the same IP address (in this case 192.168.101.3) to the system with MAC address 00:25:86:9b:72:d3. The assign interfaces page shows your pfSense OPT1 interface has MAC address 00:25:86:9b:72:d3.
Why does a pfSense interface has a static DHCP entry in the pfSense server which hosts the interface? The static DHCP entry should be deleted!
I suspect the DHCP lease shows as online because its my recollection a DHCP lease shows as online if there is an entry in the ARP table. Because OPT1 is a local interface, if it has an IP address there is a permanent ARP entry for it hence it may appear online in the DHCP lease table.
You haven't made a convincing case you have duplicate MAC addresses on your network. And even if you had, you haven't made a convincing case that a duplicate MAC address is the cause of your PPP issue. How about posting a section of the PPP log showing the error report and a few line before and after it? And which interface is the PPP interface with the trouble (WAN? OPT1?)

Delete it here.

well, the client web server's NIC is 192.168.101.3. and web server NIC MAC address is 00:25:86:9b:72:d3. this TP-link new NIC. about it is buy in 2010 year.
The PFsense server NIC MAC address is 00:25:86:9b:72:d3 also. this old computer's motherboard comes with the NIC card. about it is buy in 2005 year.
I don't know why it is has the same MAC address. I have not do change the TP-link new NIC MAC address. the old computer's is my family .

Your "Interface Assignment" page should look similar to this.

The old computer NIC how know my new buy NIC MAC address.
Even such a coincidence? ???

/interfaces_ppps.php - Should look similar… Can you show yours?
