      Hello guys,

A few months ago I was trying to perform an update of my pfSense 1.2.3 to 2.0 and I experienced some problems related to restoration of the XML. I followed step by step manual update, I removed the packages, reinstalled etc, but it crashed on reboot.
Then I saw that release 2.0.1 came out and saw the pfSense firmware updates that I can update it there, I have some questions about upgrading to this version:

1 - Someone already did this update successfully in these conditions?
2 - Someone managed to restore the XML version 1.2.2 to 2.0.1 after reinstalling the packages?
3 - Can I upgrade from pfSense 1.2.2 to 2.0.1 and can restore my backup? My environment is completely restored (NAT RULES, PPTP, CARP, ICMP, etc.)?

did you removed any special characters(áêíóç…) from your rules/aliases/any description before trying firmware upgrade?

There might be more readers who have upgraded from 1.2.3 to 2.0.1.

The upgrade works fine for most people.

All known issues are listed here:
                  http://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Upgrade_Guide

                  Pay special attention to:
                  http://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Upgrade_Guide#International.2FSpecial_Characters_in_1.2.x_Configs

We are also preparing the 2.0.2 release which includes several more upgrade fixes, but I don't recall if any of them would have resulted in any sort of crash.
