      The test rack at ESF/Netgate.

This is where pfSense gets hammered.

            Nicely routed cabling.  ;)

              Tnx!  ;D

It's nice because I had time & means to properly select cable lengths.
But there's no such thing as an ideal world… (see next picture :D)

All running pfSense? Can't make out the LCD on the XTM5s to be sure.

No, the xtm's are still WG licensed. Only the xcores as they were leftovers from a trade-in/upgrade program. Maybe one day…  ;)

It turns out that pfSense box can make a decent Metal Gear model stand. And let's face it - no one f**ks with your network when there's Rex around ;)

Thought I would post an updated pic of my setup.
The hardware is still the same as stated in this post.

Earlier this year I transitioned it to this rack since having an 18 month old son had me rethink my setup. For some crazy reason he thought certain buttons were there for him to push. ;)  I got the rack for $180 including shipping/delivery… Couldn't pass it up. Totally worth it.

                                  Soekris 6501-50 + 1 1841 Quad Gigabit card (so 8 ports total)

6 out of 8 ports in use:

                                  • WAN

                                  • Primary LAN

                                  • DMZ

                                  • Guest public WiFi

                                  • Outbuilding separate LAN connected via roughly 1/4 mile fiber link

                                  • (planned/not yet connected) backup WAN connection

                                  Cisco SG200-50P managed switch.
Yellow/Red "these are a different VLAN" sticker dots from OfficeMax. :)

Nice. How's the WRT1900AC working out for you? Too expensive for me, especially when the open source friendliness claims turns out to be a bit stretched.

Just installed the first of a handful of FW-7551's.  The performance looks great but I sure do miss the form factor of the 7541.
