OK, I left myself open for that :)  I probably would buy from Netgate but I'm sort of committed to ESXi.  (At least until VMware abandons those of us who use the ESXi free edition.)

The justification (to myself - no 'CFO' here) fails when I look at how much I have invested on IT 'stuff' during the past year :(

Believe me, the little guy - the one with the horns - keeps whispering all sorts of encouragement but the one with the halo still says "No, you got enough stuff and too little time to play with it anyway".

if you're not going to listen to the guy with the horns, you're not going to have much fun.

Have you looked at the logo for FreeBSD lately?

            Here, let me help…

The C2000 Atoms support EPT (and the rest of VT-x), and AES-NI.

                @gonzopancho:

Why not buy a Rangeley board from Netgate?

They look interesting… is it already available? (website still says Q1 2015)

Nice. Love such commitments. It is Q1 today. And tomorrow. And Q1 for the next 80 days.
By any chance found a distribution-channel in Europe?  8)

I would propose to search for distributors which are selling special boards like this: http://geizhals.de/gigabyte-ga-j1900n-d3v-a1070252.html?hloc=at&hloc=de

I guess "applianceshop.eu" would be pushing it huh  ;D

                          Sorry, just teasing  ;D

You could set up a poll?

I was giving this some extra thoughts, as your success in finding a distribution channel in Europe could be beneficial for many here. (including me)

Most probably you did your homework, and google'd a bit around as well. So chances are slim I will bring anything new.

Anyway, I won't pretend to be the business specialist here 8), but maybe if you elaborate a bit on what you want/need in such partner, those who have a business and/or might be interested could jump on-topic?

                              …a distribution-channel in Europe...

But they might not be distributors, more like vendors probably. Dealt with all 3 in the past on various occasions.
