Recently we have been facing a rather weird issue where the WAN ports keep going down for like 20 - 30 secs every 2 to 3 mins. We have configured load balancing on the PfSense firewall and any of the two WAN ports may behave this way. I have come to this conclusion that it might be an internal issue but haven't been able to see anything that might be causing such any such behavior. I have checked all logs. Scanned for viruses/malicious software on the internal devices and nothing yet.

      PLEASE HELP.

Have you checked with your ISP?

Yes I have. And also when I connect each WAN link to a single device, they work fine.

How are you enabling load balancing? Are you using two HA-paired firewalls or just one firewall with two WAN NICs?

And are you using a dedicated sync interface as well? On the face of it, it sounds like your system is failing over regularly, causing your connection to die and re-connect.

Look over these instructions and make sure you've followed these steps correctly. If you still have trouble, then I would suggest you post a screenshot of your CARP settings and your NIC settings.
