PfSense running on Windows Azure?
-
I just noticed a FreeBSD 10 build on VMDepot that might help? VMDepot is a repository of community built VMs for Azure. Link to the FreeBSD 10 VM - https://vmdepot.msopentech.com/List/Index?sort=Date&search=freebsd

Anyone tried it yet?
Seems they added support for multiple NICs, so perhaps worth a try?

I just finished a Proof of Concept deployment about running a pfSense as an Azure Virtual Machine, read more on my blog

Good work! As you've noticed an official image is already in the works, however this is a very good guide!

As jdillard notes, an official image, developed while working with the Microsoft Azure team, is in process.

any updates on this?
tnx -
any updates on this?
Soon. It's being actively worked on with Microsoft. Nearing the end of that process.
-
Do we have any updates regarding this topic?
I am really looking forward to it -
We're waiting on Microsoft now.

Is there a possibility to have an unofficial beta vhd to test out the machine on Azure?
I would really need that because I want to keep pfSense and don;t move to other firewalls.I am being pushed to find a solution but I am not able to create a VM with pfSense in Azure yet.

https://twitter.com/gonzopancho/status/690624180086185984does it mean that ms just has to approve your vm image and list it in the marketplace? or are you still far from that?

does it mean that ms just has to approve your vm image and list it in the marketplace?
Yes. It's well into that process.
-
Is there any ETA regarding this, or can we help in some ways to push Microsoft?
-
still being worked, but quite close now.
-
like couple hours close or couple month? ;)
-
If I could predict the future, I'd be in Vegas….
Oh wait, I am in Vegas. Nevermind.
-
I will be going in production within next month, is there any chance to get the pfsense on azure for that time?
Otherwise I have to deploy my own solution and I would prefer to avoid it if possible. Thank you :)
-
I'd love to be able to give you a date, but the process is inside Microsoft at this point.
-
i can see pfsense in the azure marketplace now!
gonna test itis it 2.2.5?
