SG-1000 maxes at 18 Mbps

What do I do wrong ?
Bought a device without published throughput spec. So on what do you base an expectation of more than 18 mbps?

Troughput specs are published.

Layer 3 forwarding performance using FreeBSD without a packet filter exceeds 400Mbps. Using pfSense with the default ruleset offers performance exceeding 200Mbps.

Hi,
So I unpacked my SG-1000 today, configured it from a PC and connected it to my ISP modem.
It worked ! Great ! Then I ran a speedtest: 18 Mbps in DL on my 50/10 connection.
I looked around, tried to disable some services to no avail.
What do I do wrong ?
The device should be faster, a lot faster. Please shoot an email to support@netgate.com and our support will assist you.

Seriously. Put a couple of notes in an additional information section along with other products, at the very end, and call that a spec. If it is not in the specs section I don't consider that a spec.

Those are the throughput specs, you stated there aren't any. Would you now like to discuss the visual design and text placement on our web pages? In addition to the published specs, we have published results of iperf3 results many times on many places. Please do not further go to off-topic on this thread as I would not want to lock the thread. Thank you

This customer reached out to us on the Helpdesk. Through troubleshooting it was found to be an ISP issue and NOT a pfSense issue.
The customer has discovered the modem is not able to pass the higher speeds.
This is resolved.

Hi,
First of all, I'd like to emphazise that the support is VERY reactive and helpful.
After running some tests, I found out that the ISP box (modem/router) is not capable of delivering more than 18 Mbps when used as a dumb modem (while it runs at 46 Mbps when used as a router).
Therefore, the SG-1000 is not at fault.
I'm keeping investigating and will probably change my box and then I'll be back to share an update of the actual achieved throughput.
To be continued…

What hardware is your isp using? If anything those numbers should be the opposite.. While doing nat/firewalling lower, while just in dumb bridge mode is when it should give the max it can do..
-
It is a Sagem F@st 3464.
They don't want to change it, because PPPoE pass-through is not the "normal usage" I am supposed to do with it. Nice.

Cant u just buy your own modem?

After changing some settings on the ISP modem, it finally delivers full throughput when a PPPoE session is established by another device.
So far, I am happy with the SG-1000. I get 46 Mbps DL and 9 Mbps UL, which is the maximum of my DSL line. I have installed a couple of packages as well and everything is running fine in the test environment.

Good news! Thank you for the update.
