      It's possible your chip isn't supported, thus it has no values to return.

      Do you see anything in sysctl -a | grep temperature ? Anything in the main system log from amdtemp?

          kldload amdtemp

            If it is loaded then your specific sensor chip is not supported by the module.

                      If it matters that much you could try a 2.5 snapshot. That has a number of 17h related additions over 2.4.4.
