i pressed the reset button at boot but the dhcp address i get is not 192.168.1.X but something like 169.254.29.154 with a subnet 255.255.0.0 - I have no idea where this address comes from. I tried all the ports but same result.

all 3 lights on the appliance are blinking and glowing at identical pace like a fast heart beat

how can i access the webgui?

If the status lights are blinking fast that means the firewall has not fully booted. Do they stop blinking an then start again around once every 30s? That implies a boot loop of some sort.

You need to connect to the serial console so see what is happening:

I would open a ticket with us for more direct assistance if it's not obvious from the console output that the problem is:

The DHCP client running on your device (PC, Phone, laptop, whatever) will auto-assign itself an 169.254.0.0/16 after a certain time-out : when no DHCP is answering its request for an IP/DNS/Gateway..

Edit : and where are the logs ??
