      Hi,
You mean 2.5.0, right? I will test it in a VM to see the news..if any.

You are more than welcome to test 2.5.0 snapshots if you like, it's just a bit farther away from release. We're putting out 2.4.5 in the very near term so we're focusing testing on 2.4.5 issues at the moment.

I decided to live on the wild side and put the latest 2.4.5 snap on our primary router this afternoon. After all I have good backups and a spare box if it failed. And I cant really fire myself.. :)

Went without a single hitch. :) Everything is running well.

While I won't be running every single snap that comes along (like I try to do with our test router on 2.5) due to the importance of this box I figured no harm updating once a week or so until the release.

When you decide to update your version of 2.4.4 give yourself at least a ten minute downtime more or less depending on the speed of your system drive ect..

              Triggering snowflakes one by one..
              Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4590T CPU @ 2.00GHz on an M400 WG box.

                Thanks for CP warning.
I would have installed 2.4.5 during this week - but CP not working would put my life in danger ...

No "help me" PM's please. Use the forum, the community will thank you.
Edit : and where are the logs ??

The squid.inc looks like need fix, MITM stuff won't work, is the same issue found in 2.5_dev.

                  https://forum.netgate.com/topic/148755/squid-transparent-mitm-ssl_crtd-not-found

                  Squid Non-Transparent works.

Continue testing...thanks Pfsense teamfor your great work.

God damn it. The fixes looked enticing and I clicked update. Now I'm reinstalling 2.4.4 on my SG3100.

A fresh 2.4.4-p3 also does not upgrade to 2.4.5. What a mean trick.

Same error either way? Probably worth opening an issue on https://redmine.pfsense.org for that

Looks like the SG-3100 failure is also a known issue that we're already working on correcting.

It should be safe to try 2.4.5 on an SG-3100 again now. The issues mentioned above have been addressed.

Hey guys, I tried to upgrade the SG-3100 from 2.4.4-p3 to 2.4.5.a.20200101.2005 and it didn't boot anymore.

I tried the 2.5.0 before, and it also didn't work, when that happened, I posted the logs here in the forum, and according to jimp, it was possible that my unit was damaged or it could be a bug in freebsd 12.0 that would be corrected in 12.1

Can you guys tell me if the logs below, from the 2.4.5 attempt, can help me to confirm if my unit is indeed damaged?

                                  Hi,

Would it be possible to include the fix for the "You are connected" issue on captive portal? (Redmine #8616 )
This is a very impacting bug, it would be desirable that it get fixed before 2.5

the patch fixing this issue can be found here : https://github.com/pfsense/pfsense/compare/RELENG_2_4_4...Augustin-FL:fix-reconfig-for-2-4-4.diff
(This issue has been fixed on master via PR 2042, but this PR is not compatible with 2.4.X ...merge conflict)

@dennis_s @jimp Would it be possible to apply this patch on 2.4.5?

                                    I second this demand.
I'm using this patch - mentioned above, for months now and following the pfSense 2.4.5 dev path, on 2.4.5.a.20200126.1353 right now.
This patch is in "auto apply mode "and didn't fail to apply.

I'm using the portal for a hotel .... so I guess I can mention that it's tested ;)

Edit : and where are the logs ??

It's too late to add something like that to 2.4.5. You can continue to patch it manually if it affects your environment.

I upgraded my sg-3100 from 2.4.4-p3 to 2.4.5, and received the following error. This is a very basic install, no weird rules or packages running:

                                        Notices
                                        Filter Reload
There were error(s) loading the rules: /tmp/rules.debug:18: cannot define table bogonsv6: too many elements. - The line in question reads [18]: table <bogonsv6> persist file "/etc/bogonsv6"

If this is something that's already been reported sorry - I didn't see anything on it.

That would not be from the upgrade. Nothing there changed.

System > Advanced, Firewall/NAT tab, check the value of Firewall Maximum Table Entries. It should be set quite high, a couple hundred thousand at least. If that doesn't help, start a new thread.

This is already set at 400k, my guess is it needs to be above 650k. I'll adjust it and try the upgrade again.
